Why do I need someone outside my company to design a presentation? The presentation landscape is laden with look-alike presentations and it's important to have a distinctive-looking presentation that gives you a visual advantage. Typically, most companies aren't set up to have someone on staff that does presentations and nothing but presentations so you have to factor in the time you might be taking away from other projects and the speed with which they could complete a similar-style presentation.

Can't I do what you do by buying some other software? Yes you can. There's quite an array of software options that will allow you to replicate much of what we do once you become familiar with them. On average, our presentations utilize about $2,000 of professional graphics software.

What makes Talking Point different than someone in my Art department? Not much, really, except that we focus solely on presentations and have in-depth experience working with this animated medium. Generally, Art Departments with a strong print focus don't fully take advantage of the multimedia dimension and may not be as familiar with how the two intersect.

How much should I expect to pay for a presentation? Our prices are based on a number of items: Number of slides, turnaround, bells & whistles (i.e., video inserts or music), the complexity and number of charts, etc. According to the "Pricing & Ethical Guidelines" sourcebook, comparative fees for "Business Presentations" vary from $120 to $300 per slide. On average, a Talking Point-designed presentation costs anywhere from $40-$80 a slide frame.

What should I look for when I'm evaluating presentation designers? Three things: Creativity/Style... experience... and the adaptability of the presentation.

Creativity/Style: Are they giving you something completely custom? Can they adapt the look and feel of your corporate culture into the presentation design? Do they have a sense for design that you think would instantly set you apart from the others?
Experience: Are they presentation designers alone or is presentation design something they do as just part of their offerings? How long have they been involved in the medium? Have they created presentations for similar industries or companies?
Adaptability of the presentation: Can the presentation they create be edited by you or your staff? Does it require special software or plug-ins that you will have to buy or install? Can it be run easily on most computers?

If I choose Talking Point to help me with my presentation, what do I need to do from my end -- and what is your typical work flow process? Send us any collateral material whose look you'd like to reflect, plus your logo in preferably an .ai (Illustrator) or .eps (postscript) format and any photos you want included. If you want video inserted, you can convert it on your end to a digital file (.avi) or have us do the conversion. For a copy of our typical work flow process, click here.

Can Talking Point help me with other details related to the presentation? Yes. Our services range from developing content to being on-site to run your presentation. Please refer to our "Services" page for more...

What bells and whistles does Talking Point employ other than PowerPoint? Video, Flash, live web-linking and custom music soundtracks are just some of the things we can add to your presentation. Be sure to let us know if there's anything special you'd like when you call.

What's the typical turnaround time? We pride ourselves on meeting tight deadlines, but typically a project will take about three weeks to complete. For those projects that need to be completed sooner, we do charge an additional rush fee.
